![]() ![]() What OS are you using, and what version is it? Just trying to help narrow down some possibilities as to why you are having compatibility issues. I'm guessing that you probably have the Mute option unchecked in the settings menu, and you have a working headset/speaker set that can be confirmed when launching another game already. It was working for me without compatibility mode. Sorry again for the confusion and hope you all can find fixes. Feel free to try to search for your other issues online as well, you could potentially need silly things like DirectX and other things that I didn't think to mention as well. The only other thing I could do is provide you with the entire game CD from my childhood, but we're borderline talking about pirating by that point, and I don't feel comfortable with that. I apologize for calling this the definitive guide, even though it can't solve all of your issues that arise. Anything else beyond that is not within my realm of being able to fix. I recommend standard troubleshooting things such as running in a different compatibility mode, tweaking your config files, verifying your game files, and even reinstalling as needed. Now that you all have gotten that fixed, the other bugs are starting to pop up that are much more out of my control to fix. Secondary Edit: This fix was supposed to be primarily for the issue where you could not run the game on the modern system due to Steam Files being bugged. Step 10: (And I really mean this one!) Enjoy!Įdit: Changed Luxor over to Dropbox due to "Virus Found" on the other, even though it was signed by MumboJumbo and hasn't been modified since then? ![]() Step 9: Close all of the folders, Open Steam, and click the "Play" button! Step 8: Paste it into the folder where you deleted/changed/modified the "Flash"(.ocx), "game"(.dmg), "Splash"(.swf), and "Luxor"(.exe) files. Step 7: You're almost done! Go into the extracted folder called "Luxor" and copy the "Luxor"(.exe) file. Note: In Windows 11, this option may be under the "More Options" button. Step 6: Go to where your file was downloaded, right click the file, and click "Extract All.", and click the Extract button. Note: This contains the executable that I used during my childhood, and has not been modified in any way by me. Step 5: Go to "" (Copy and paste into Web Browser and remove quotations, because steam is currently blocking links) and download the (.zip) folder after closing the "Sign In With Dropbox" button, because who wants to do that? xxx portion is whatever portion you see in the parenthesis, if you modify the. Step 4: You can delete these files if you so wish, or move them to another folder, or if you do see those parenthesis, change it to. Note: You may see the part in parenthesis, you might not. Step 3: Find the files named "Flash"(.ocx), "game"(.dmg), "Splash"(.swf), and "Luxor"(.exe) Step 2: Right click on the Luxor Icon, and under "Manage" click the "Browse Local Files" button Step 1: Open Steam, and find your Luxor Game I ran some tests to figure out what files we needed to run the game, and realized that Steam has all of those already. I dug around the basement and found the Luxor 4-in-1 game disk that I had grown up on. The solution? This handy-dandy little guide that will get your game up and running again. This is causing anyone who is currently purchasing the game to run into some errors, and "Not being able to run as Administrator" because the executable is launching a Flash Player file and is considered "Unsafe". As some of you know, Flash reached it's End-Of-Life on December 30, 2020. When Steam acquired this game, they received a copy with what appears to be a ".SWF" file as like a splash screen. ![]() So, I went and looked into not only how to fix it, but also why it was not working. So, I went and bought the Luxor Collection with the disappointment that this game was not working. I absolutely played the crap out of it, and was so excited when I saw it on Steam. This game was a huge part of my childhood growing up. ![]()
